David completed a sponsored engineering apprenticeship
with the Dowty Group in Cheltenham before moving into the joint marketing/management
company created between Dowty and Smiths Industries working in the Aerospace industry.
With specific responsibility for Eurofighter, he travelled throughout Europe coordinating
proposals with European partners worth in excess of £600M. Following a successful two year spell in marketing, he then moved into high tech marketing and PR agencies where he worked with specialist automotive, agricultural and computer based clients supporting them across 21 countries. Further marketing and management consultancy career moves resulted in becoming Client Services Director at agencies in Cheltenham, Oxford and Bath with responsibility for new business acquisition, negotiation and client servicing, working with a number of blue chip clients in both the business and consumer fields. After 13 years consultancy business and a career break, David joined the Prospect Training group of companies as Marketing Manager. With responsibility for marketing and communication initially, his management skills were utilised further and he joined the Board as Operations Director working across all three companies spanning public and private sector training. |

Since graduating in Electronics and working for Marconi as a production engineer, I moved into consultancy and training and then spent 15 years working and managing within a college in Nottingham. On moving to Swindon I set up Solomon to provide quality learning for both individuals and employers. We specialise in the area of skills for life providing Literacy, Numeracy, ESOL and IT training to individuals and employees. We have many partnerships with NVQ providers, supporting them in the delivery of Skills for life. | |||||||||

Paul has worked in education for 8 years. He started as College Accountant at the Isle of Wight College before moving up to Gloucestershire to take up the post of Vice-principal Finance & Resources at the Royal Forest of Dean College. Prior to moving into education Paul's experience was in commerce working for a shipping group originally in London before moving out to West Africa to become Area Financial Controller covering Gambia, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Ghana. In 1996 Paul moved to Zambia to take up post as Chief Financial Analyst at the nationally owned copper mining industry of Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Limited.
Paul was Chair of the Gloucestershire Training Providers Forum before it merged with the Wiltshire Training Providers Partnership to form today's Gloucestershire & Wiltshire Partnership group. |

Viv worked for training providers during the 1980's
assessing and delivering basic skills and NVQs to unemployed people. She joined Gloucestershire Training & Enterprise Council in the 1990's and worked with Work Based Learning training providers as contract manager. Viv Instrumental in introducing Modern Apprenticeships across providers and employers in Gloucestershire in 1994/5 and worked on National Committees to develop apprenticeships for both the Business Administration and Horticulture sectors. Viv managed the WBL team at LSC Gloucestershire until 2006 including Apprenticeships and E2E, when she joined Gloucestershire Training Group in 2006 as Training Co-ordinator. |

Joy joined North Wessex Training as Managing Director
in 2003 and she has been the driving force of the business ever since. Her entrepreneurial
attitude and effervescent personality, combined with a burning desire to make a difference
to people’s lives, ensures that she has all the attributes required to head-up a
forward-thinking, dynamic organization. She graduated from Bath with a teacher-training degree and cut her educational teeth in Stroud, Worcester and Chippenham. She taught a range of subjects including design & textiles, management & communication and business studies. Joy then joined the public sector working for the self-funded business unit at Bath & North East Somerset council, before successfully applying for the MD’s role at NWT. |

Julia Falaki initially worked for an electronic and
electrical R&D company as a conference organiser for 4 years. Following a brief
career break, Julia then worked for a small voluntary sector organisation (Third Age
Challenge) which provided advice, support and learning opportunities for unemployed older
people. It was during the 10 years she worked at Third Age Challenge that Julia built her skills and experience in developing and managing European funded projects, working on Adapt, Phoenix and ESF funded projects, with national and European partners. Julia then left to work for 3 years at the Wiltshire & Swindon LSC as a Funding Adviser with particular responsibility for co-ordinating the ESF in Wiltshire and Swindon. Following a major restructuring programme at the LSC, Julia took the decision to leave and set up her own business, offering advice and consultancy with applying for, setting up and managing European funded projects. |

Steve started at Avon Vale Training Ltd as a
Mechanical Engineering Apprentice. He was originally employed by GEC, Melksham as an
automatic machine tool setter, then moved into engineering planning. He relocated to London with the employer working as a Production Engineer. Steve was then moved back to the SW and employed by Stothert and Pitt, Bath as a Production Manager of a Welding, Fabrication and Assembly Department. He then moved employer to Horstmann Defence Systems as a CNC programming and planning engineer, before finally moving to Avon Vale Training Ltd. He was first employed as Training Advisor, then Training Manager, Operations Manager and now is finally General Manager. |

Wendy's management journey began in financial services for Allied Dunbar in Swindon, overseeing a team dealing with compliance issues, before joining her husband Nick in running a driver recruitment agency working with most of the U.K.'s leading distribution companies. In 2003 the opportunity to diversify into transport training arose with the purchase of Devizes based Wttl. Since then the business has expanded to become one of the largest training providers to the Logistics Sector in the South West. As joint owner Wendy has many roles within the business but the main ones are as Company Secretary, Director of Quality Assurance and Compliance and she also manages all personnel matters. |

Julie spent a number of years working for Gloucestershire County Council Education Dept followed by 8 years as a Training Co-ordinator at Gloscat, supporting trainees in the Hairdressing and Beauty sector. She then moved to the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) where she spent 1 year as a TEC Liaison Officer, working nationally, raising the profile of the printing industry to Training and Enterprise Councils around the County followed by 7 years as the South West Regional Business Adviser (Training). She then moved to the LSC as Basic Skills Co-ordinator for 3½ years, 1 year teaching Literacy at Gloscat, finally 6 years ago returning to Gloucestershire County Council Adult Education as Development Officer for Literacy, Language and Numeracy where she manages a team of tutors teaching Literacy, Language and Numeracy to adults around the County. Since returning to Adult Education in Gloucestershire she has also managed 2 successful Basic Skills ESF projects. |
