Wendy's management journey began in financial services for Allied Dunbar in Swindon, overseeing a team dealing with compliance issues, before joining her husband Nick in running a driver recruitment agency working with most of the U.K.'s leading distribution companies. In 2003 the opportunity to diversify into transport training arose with the purchase of Devizes based Wttl. Since then the business has expanded to become one of the largest training providers to the Logistics Sector in the South West. As joint owner Wendy has many roles within the business but the main ones are as Company Secretary, Director of Quality Assurance and Compliance and she also manages all personnel matters.

David completed a sponsored engineering apprenticeship with the Dowty Group in Cheltenham before moving into the joint marketing/management company created between Dowty and Smiths Industries working in the Aerospace industry. With specific responsibility for Eurofighter, he travelled throughout Europe coordinating proposals with European partners worth in excess of £600M. Following a successful two year spell in marketing, he then moved into high tech marketing and PR agencies where he worked with specialist automotive, agricultural and computer based clients supporting them across 21 countries. Further marketing and management consultancy career moves resulted in becoming Client Services Director at agencies in Cheltenham, Oxford and Bath with responsibility for new business acquisition, negotiation and client servicing, working with a number of blue chip clients in both the business and consumer fields. After 13 years consultancy business and a career break, David joined the Prospect Training group of companies as Marketing Manager. With responsibility for marketing and communication initially, his management skills were utilised further and he joined the Board as Operations Director working across all three companies spanning public and private sector training.
Bryan Davis- Managing Directory, Green Inc (eu) Limited
After 20 years as a Senior Submarine Engineering Training Officer in the Royal Navy, I worked for a global Online Training company as the Head of Professional Service in EMEA and was VP (Product and Services) at a Financial Services Training company before becoming the Longwater Group Limited. After a short break as an RN Reservist where I managed the UK Fishery Protection squadron on behalf of DEFRA, I became part of the Management Team that delivered OfSTED Outstanding in all categories at The Oldham College. I then moved to New College Swindon as the Director of Curriculum and Deputy to the Principal after which I started Green Inc. Green Inc, through its training brand, Green Labyrinth, delivers Private and Publicly funded training across multiple sectors focussed on progression into work. We are contracted to deliver Youth Contract, Study Programmes, ESF, and Apprenticeships across a large number of disciplines.
Green Inc also consults into the HE and FE sector and recently has launched “EngageCRM” to support advanced employer engagement in the education sector.
I have also recently established an approved Apprentice Training Agency (Longwater ATA CIC) which has found a great deal of success placing Apprentices into the SME businesses.

Julia Falaki initially worked for an electronic and electrical R&D company as a conference organiser for 4 years. Following a brief career break, Julia then worked for a small voluntary sector organisation (Third Age Challenge) which provided advice, support and learning opportunities for unemployed older people. It was during the 10 years she worked at Third Age Challenge that Julia built her skills and experience in developing and managing European funded projects, working on Adapt, Phoenix and ESF funded projects, with national and European partners. Julia then left to work for 3 years at the Wiltshire & Swindon LSC as a Funding Adviser with particular responsibility for co-ordinating the ESF programme in Wiltshire and Swindon. Following a major restructuring programme at the LSC, Julia took the decision to leave and set up her own business, offering advice and consultancy with applying for, setting up and managing European funded projects and has been contracted to manage GWP since 2008..
Julie Bird - (Development Officer (Literacy, Language & Numeracy), Gloucestershire County Council)
Julie spent a number of years working for Gloucestershire County Council Education Dept followed by 8 years as a Training Co-ordinator at Gloscat, supporting trainees in the Hairdressing and Beauty sector. She then moved to the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) where she spent 1 year as a TEC Liaison Officer, working nationally, raising the profile of the printing industry to Training and Enterprise Councils around the County followed by 7 years as the South West Regional Business Adviser (Training).She then moved to the LSC as Basic Skills Co-ordinator for 3½ years, 1 year teaching Literacy at Gloscat, finally 10 years ago returning to Gloucestershire County Council Adult Education as Language, Literacy & Numeracy Manager where she manages a team of tutors teaching Literacy, Language and Numeracy to adults around the County. Since returning to Adult Education in Gloucestershire she has also managed 2 successful Basic Skills ESF projects.
Chris Baish- ~Senior Adult Education Manager, New College Swindon
Chris is the senior Adult Education Manager at New College, Swindon, responsible for Fast Forward (the Apprenticeships and Commercial training team), Adult Community Learning, Flexible Learning, Leisure programmes and Employability provision
Recent projects have included implementing Salesforce CRM within the Fast Forward and Employability teams, as well as leading ESF funded provision for NEETs and adult jobseekers. Prior to that he managed the delivery of a number of courses for all ages, specifically: ESOL, Functional Skills and Foundation Learning.
Prior to joining the college, Chris graduated with a BSc in Architecture from Cardiff University and went on to work for a small architectural practice in London, before spending a year in Poland teaching English. He also has commercial experience, having worked in Purchasing and Buying at Intel and then Homebase over a period of 5 years.
He finally found a home in Further Education in 2005 and he has gone from strength to strength within the college over the last 11 years gaining experience and expertise in many areas of the College whilst remaining close to overall grass-roots curriculum issues.
Employer and community engagement sit at the heart of the areas he manages, so he is keen to support the work of the GWP.
Rob Matts- ESF Relationship Manager
After graduating from the University of Bath with a BSc in International Management and French, Rob worked as a consultant for 5 years at Zennor Consulting in Stroud, Gloucestershire, specialising in programme and project support and audit/assurance services for ESF, ERDF, and Government Funded organisations and funding bodies. Rob worked on a number of assignments for funding bodies including the Government Offices, Regional Development Agencies and Learning & Skills Councils, as well as for grant recipients including Colleges, Her Majesty’s Prison Service and Local Authorities. During this time Rob was assigned to the Department for Education & Skills as interim project manager on the ESF Funded ‘Get On’ campaign.
Rob then joined Hartpury College in Gloucester to lead a large ESF funded Environmental Technologies project, developing new qualifications and delivering training to the construction and building services sectors. Rob also took on responsibility for all externally funded projects and partnership provision.
On leaving Hartpury, Rob joined Brunel & Gordano Training in Bristol as Operations Manager. BGT delivered apprenticeships in engineering and construction as well as foundation learning. Rob moved to Serco in 2013 as ESF Relationship Manager, managing a supply chain of 40 sub-contractors to deliver the successful ESF Skills Support for the Workforce contracts in Gloucestershire, Swindon & Wiltshire, Dorset and Heart of the South West LEP areas.

Brad is the Apprenticeship Performance Manager at Wiltshire College. This is a cross-College role responsible for all aspects of the Apprenticeship journey, experience and achievement, setting the standard for quality of delivery, driving continuous improvement, and managing performance. Wiltshire college offer apprenticeships in over 30 different occupations across 10 diverse sectors.
Prior to joining Wiltshire College, Brad worked for one of the UK’s largest training providers, Lifetime Training. Brad gained first-hand experience as an Apprenticeship Assessor before progressing within the company where he gained both work based learning and commercial exposure as Commercial Fitness Area Manager, managing a national team of assessors
